What we run, and what each class is for

Matching cargo to the right vehicle class is the cheapest optimisation in logistics — and the one most often skipped.

Fleet technology

What keeps the fleet on the road

Three unglamorous commitments that decide whether a delivery promise holds.

Preventive maintenance

Scheduled servicing and rapid in-house repairs, so a breakdown becomes a delay of hours rather than days.

100% GPS tracking

Every unit in the fleet is tracked, giving your team real-time position, route history and arrival estimates.

Full cargo insurance

Goods in transit are covered through reputable underwriters, with certificates issued on request.

Tracking that your team can act on

GPS on every unit is only useful if someone is watching it. Our operations desk monitors position and dwell time so an unexpected stop, a border queue or a route deviation is noticed while it can still be fixed — not reported after delivery.

  • Real-time position and route history on every vehicle
  • Realistic arrival estimates rather than optimistic promises
  • Milestone updates at collection, border and delivery
  • Scheduled performance reporting for contract clients
  • Continuous temperature logging on refrigerated units

None of that works off spreadsheets. Trips, vehicle assignment, driver records, fuel and delivery paperwork all sit in one transport management system built for us by Waretech Solutions Limited, our technology partner in Nairobi. It is the reason the status we give a client and the record our operations team is working from are the same thing.

Safety & compliance

Standards applied on every trip

On the road

  • Pre-trip inspection before every departure
  • Speed governance and driver hour discipline
  • Load securing standards for flatbed and containerised cargo
  • Planned rest and refuelling points on long-haul routes
  • Documented incident reporting and escalation

At the border and on paper

  • Customs and transit entries prepared before loading
  • Regional customs bonds and certificates of origin
  • Goods-in-transit cover through licensed underwriters
  • Temperature records for all cold chain movements
  • Proof of delivery captured and returned on every drop

These standards come out of how the company was built — owning the assets rather than brokering the work.

FAQ

Questions about our fleet

How many vehicles does Jastan Logistics operate?

We own and operate more than 120 vehicles across eight classes, from 420–480HP prime movers down to 125cc–150cc motorbikes with insulated boxes for last-mile parcels.

Do you subcontract any of your transport?

Our own fleet carries the overwhelming majority of what we quote. Owning the assets is the reason we can commit to timing and cargo condition rather than passing the risk to a third party.

Are your vehicles tracked?

Yes — 100% of the fleet carries GPS tracking, giving position, route history and realistic arrival estimates at any point in the journey.

What emission standards do your trucks meet?

Our prime movers are Euro 2 to Euro 5 compliant, selected according to the corridor and the regulatory requirements of the countries on that route.

How do you handle breakdowns on a long-haul route?

Preventive maintenance is scheduled rather than reactive, and we run in-house repair capability so a fault becomes a delay of hours rather than days. Where a route allows it, cargo can be transferred to another unit in the fleet.
