Jastan Logistics runs freight forwarding as an operating job rather than a paperwork job — we book the capacity, prepare the entries and move the cargo on our own vehicles wherever the route allows.

We handle imports arriving through Mombasa and Dar es Salaam, exports leaving Kenya for regional and overseas markets, and transit cargo crossing East Africa under bond. For most inland movements the same company that quotes you also drives the truck, which is why our transit estimates tend to survive contact with reality.

Road, sea and air — matched to the cargo, not the habit

Road freight is the backbone of regional trade here, and the Northern and Central Corridors are where we run daily. Our prime movers and 40FT flatbeds carry containerised cargo inland; 28-tonne rigids handle bulk and FMCG runs between plants and depots.

Sea freight is coordinated through Mombasa and Dar es Salaam, including inland container depot positioning, container release and haulage to your site. Air freight is reserved for what genuinely needs it — urgent spares, high-value consignments, pharmaceutical shipments with a short window — because paying air rates for cargo that could have gone by road is a decision, not an accident.

Customs documentation handled before the truck loads

Import and export entries, transit declarations, regional customs bonds and certificates of origin under EAC, COMESA and SADC arrangements are prepared by our own team. Where an inspection, permit or standards certificate is needed, we tell you at quotation stage rather than at the border.

Goods in transit are covered through licensed underwriters and certificates can be issued on request. For high-value or unusual consignments we can arrange declared-value cover.

Visibility that means something

Every vehicle in our fleet carries GPS. That gives you position, route history and a genuine arrival estimate rather than a promise. Contract clients receive scheduled status reporting; ad-hoc shippers get milestone updates on WhatsApp — collection, border, delivery.
